Zero Knowledge Proof is a decentralized project with contributors distributed across multiple jurisdictions. There is no single headquarters, and no central entity governs the protocol.

Network operations are progressively transitioning toward DAO-based coordination, with infrastructure and upgrades driven by on-chain proposals, validator participation, and open-source contribution.

The Zero Knowledge Proof project began research and development in 2022, with early circuits and protocol design initiated in stealth. Public-facing development accelerated in 2024 ahead of the testnet rollout and token launch phases in 2025.

There are no centralized miners or validators. Proof Pods, the physical validators, can be owned and operated by anyone with internet access. The system is designed so no single party can dominate consensus — participation is measured by verifiable work, not stake size alone.
